SPORTS AND TRAUMA RELIEF
Empowering youth through football in East African refugee camps
In a world where armed conflict and sexual violence continue to tear innocent lives apart, young refugees, both girls and boys, often find themselves facing deep trauma and a critical lack of support. Our project aims to offer hope and healing to these young people through sport, particularly football.

Project Overview
Global Refugee Aid (GRA) aims to empower young people, especially girls, in
refugee camps in East Africa by establishing football clubs. These clubs will
use sport as a strategic tool for psychological support, trauma healing and
education, fostering resilience and addressing systemic injustices. The
initiative will provide a safe and supportive environment where young people
can thrive, heal and build their futures.
Mission Report
GRA’s mission is to make sports healing accessible
to all young people in East Africa through training,
consulting and movement building. We believe that
sports can be a powerful medium to bring creative
and accessible solutions to some of society’s
biggest problems, promoting healing, resilience and
justice.
